Countries are bishie-fied. Also, BL, BL, BL, some crossdressing, BL, a couple of tsunderes and yanderes, more BL and a fujoshi.
e.g. Spain is pedo for S.Italy
S.Italy is tsundere for Spain
Spain & Netherlands hate each other
Netherlands & Belgium just don't get along /that/ well, though they're siblings. . . That's just 4 characters. . . and they're pretty much all shipped with each other & have some sort of fanbase ('cept S.Italy x Netherlands).

Hetalia's more or less just an entertaining thing. I wouldn't go to it for learning history (it has some tidbits of history here and there, but it's very easy to forget/just look over). Though it did teach me the existence of a couple of countries, aha. . . 'cept I probably would've found out about them this year in history class, anywho. /shrug.
And then people are shipwanky LOL. C; I mean, I ship a lot in Hetalia too. . . some because of history (e.g. Netherlands x Canada), and some because of the characters (Prussia x Hungary).
Also, manga/webcomic >>>> the anime.
ANYWHO

Hungary x Austira were married and are still close. C: And since Hungary's a fujoshi. . . she likes to see Austria being molested by other dudes. = u =
